ROGUE WAVE presents Cover Me: A Night of '80s Classics!
ROGUE WAVE presents Cover Me: A Night of '80s Classics!
Over the decade and a half that Rogue Wave has made music, Zach Rogue has continued to expand his band’s emotional spectrum. Drawing inspiration from the inevitable delusions of everyday American life, Rogue, his longtime bandmate Pat Spurgeon, and their fellow members have returned reinvigorated, and with a fresh sound founded on the art of patience, the fearlessness of experimenting, and the unbridled joy of creating something meaningful to help us navigate through these vacant times. Trusting in its own abilities and leaning on each other, Rogue Wave has seized creative control of its identity and sound and is set to smash any preconceptions of its music, revealing the most truthful, powerful, and urgent sonic blueprint of the band to date.
MIDDLE KIDS
MIDDLE KIDS
Middle Kids is the latest Sydney band on the block made up of Hannah Joy, Tim Fitz and Harry Day. Both Fitz and Joy have received mass praise for their solo works individually. While Joy was supporting the likes of Broods, Mansionair and Soak, Fitz was sharing stages with artists such as Matt Corby, Flume and Oh Mercy. In just a couple of months Middle Kids have started to create some serious momentum for themselves across the world with their home recordings and debut single "Edge Of Town." Already the band have had support from influential radio stations such as KEXP, KCRW, WFUV, WXPN and in their home country Australia, from triple j and FBi. Even Elton John is a fan, adding "Edge of Town" to his Apple Music playlist and spinning the track on his radio show last week. Things keep going from strength to strength for the young Sydney band, having just been crowned the winners of FBi Radio's Northern Lights competition which will see them flown to Iceland to perform at Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik alongside PJ Harvey, Warpaint, Bjork and many others. Middle Kids' latest single, "Your Love," which was recorded, produced and mixed by the band premiered via global tastemaker Beats 1 with Zane Lowe. "Your Love" is their second single and will be on the band's forthcoming debut EP due for release later this year.
The New Up
The New Up
The New Up’s music has been described in many ways, but NBC said it best when they called it "A clear standout... [this] San Francisco five-piece specializes in dark, dreamy rock with gorgeous female vocals", or perhaps Flagpole hit it on the head when they coined the band’s music as, "striking, exotic and brashly coherent indie pop that feel[s] like the sonic equivalent of a thrill ride". However you describe it, The New Up’s music promises to integrate catchy and interesting vocal melodies, ethereal vocal harmonies, powerful lyrical themes and beats that make you wanna move.
